Qi Emission Methods 外气發放法 1st Set

Image
For beginners in Qigong and practitioners who are passionate and interested in qi emission, here's a simple and quite basic movement as a starting point. It's from the teaching of Qigong Master Chen Linfeng 陳林峯 who taught Wisdom Lotus Gong from 1986 in Beijing, China. Qi Emission Methods 外气發放法 There are five sets, this is the 1st set. This exercise stimulates the movement of internal energy and manipulates external energy, or simply drawing in external energy (palms pulling outwards) and emitting internal energy (palms pushing towards each other) via the Laogung points in the palms. 1. Stand relaxed, feet at shoulder width apart. Slightly bend your knees. Natural breathing through the nose. 2. Rub your palms for about 2 mins. 3. Bring your palms together, fingers pointing up at chest level and stay for 2 mins. 4. Open your palms to face your chest and turn your wrists such that the fingers of both hands point toward each other. Pause for several seconds to feel the qi s...

Qi Emission Methods 外气發放法 2nd Set

This is a continuation of the Qi Emission Methods taught by China's Qigong Master Chen Linfeng 陳林峯. This set requires the practitioner to be able to emit qi or at least able to use mind intent to move qi. Basically you use your mind intent to send/transmit qi from one palm to the other palm, which receives the qi which then travels up the hand, go across the shoulders and come down to the transmitting palm. Benefits 1. Clears blockages, stagnant energy and blood stasis in the hand meridians (energy pathways) which are Lung, Heart, Pericardium and Large Intestine, Small Intestine and the Triple Warmer meridians. Thus relieves numbness and pain in the hands and shoulders. 2. The qi passes through and energises the Big Hammer DU14 大椎 Dazhui. This point stimulates the areas of the body that are Yang qi deficient and also expels external pathogens. Helps to relieve cough and asthma, also relieves back and nape stiffness and night sweats. 3. Passes through and energises the Triple...

Qi Emission Methods 外气發放法 3rd Set.

From China's Qigong Master Chen Linfeng 陳林峯. Benefits 1. Increases the sensitivity of the palms and fingers to qi. 2. Stimulates qi emission and the interaction of internal energy with external energy. 2. Cultivates qi ball that can be used for self healing and for treating chronic ailments. This method is simple and also suitable for beginners. Method 1. Stand relaxed with knees slightly bent and distance between the feet at shoulder width apart. 2. Rub your palms for 2 mins, then raise them to chest level, with palms together and fingers pointing up (a prayer like posture). Stay for 2 mins. 3. Open your palms, with your right palm at chest level facing down while your left palm is at the navel level, facing up. Distance apart about 30 cm (1 foot). Make sure the palms are centred with each other (Laogung points). The palms are held as if holding a ball. 4. Use your mind intent to feel there's a qi ball between the palms. 5. Rotate your palms in circles in the vertica...

Qi Emission Methods 外气發放法 4th Set.

Image
From my personal experience, this set is the most powerful of the five sets. Benefits 1. This method harnesses the sun's energy 2. Trains the palms to emit/transmit/project qi by first sending out internal energy from the one palm to the sun and then returns the energy to be received by the other palm. Method 1. Stand relaxed with knees slightly bent with distance between the feet same as that between the shoulders. 2. Raise both palms such that the middle of the palms are at the level of the eyes (fingers pointing upwards) and the palms face the sun. DO NOT look directly at the sun. 3. The palms should be held as if each is holding a ball. The fingers should be open and relaxed. 4. Use your mind intent to send your internal energy through the centre (Laogung point) of your left palm towards the sun. 5. Pause for 1-2 seconds, then return the energy to be received by the right palm. Feel the energy coming into your body from the right palm. This completes one cycle. Repeat ...

Exchanging Energy with Nature and Stars

It's common knowledge that people who suffer from sickness, especially cancer, have been taught to exchange their sick energy with the healthy energy of trees. What is less known is that according to the teaching of China's Qigong Master Chen Linfeng 陳林峯, one can also exchange energy with the sun, moon, stars, mountains and seas 日月山河. Method (Exchange energy with trees) 1. Stand or sit completely relaxed near the tree 2. Hold your hands out as if hugging the tree (without touching) 3. Send out your sick qi from one palm to the tree and draw back healthy qi from the tree to your other palm. This is one cycle, repeat 108 or 362 cycles. Method (Exchange energy with the sun) 1. Stand or sit facing the sun, hold out both hands as if hugging the sun 2. Send out your sick qi to the sun from one palm and draw back the sun's energy into the other palm 3. If you have Stomach cancer for example, use your mind intent to send the toxic qi from your Stomach to the sun and with the...

Strenthening Kidneys - QiGong

Image
Scientists tell us that we're only using 3% of our brain. Meditation helps us to use more of it to strengthen our internal organs and their functions and thus bringing vitality to our health. Our Kidneys and adrenals are an important aspect of good health. When these deteriorate due to poor lifestyle and diet many ailments surface. The worst is where there is a need for dialysis. Practising Qigong consistently on a daily basis will help significantly to ensure the health of the Kidneys and adrenals. Meditation on the Mingmen especially targets these important organs. I have earlier posted methods on Meditation of the Mingmen Part 1 & Part 2. Here I'm sharing Meditation on the Mingmen Part 3. Part 3 is independent on its own and you can practise it even without referring to Part 1 or 2. Part 3 is significantly more effective but you must be perfectly relaxed while doing it. Requirements: i. Able to look inwards ii. Able to do slow and deep inhalation and exhalation ...

Self Purging - QiGong

Image
If you have pain or numbness or an uncomfortable tingling in your shoulder, forearm, hand, or fingers, you can try out this protocol. It's very effective too for massage/tuina therapists who will have inadvertently absorbed the toxic energy of their clients. And especially for Clinical Medical Qigong therapists as it's common to get contaminated by the patient's energy. In the least serious scenario, you'll feel a dull pain at the shoulder joint. At the most serious you may lay down, completely exhausted. Even if you are healthy, practising this daily for 5-10 mins will purge out your old and stagnant energy and replaced by fresh energy from the earth. Your Baihui if open, will naturally draw in universal energy. Method i. Stand relaxed with distance between the heels about half or two third the distance between your shoulders. ii. Let your hands down at the sides, with palm facing the thigh. iii. Straighten the fingers (with space in between) relaxed and pointed...

Cultivating Energy (Qi) at the Lower Dantian

  i. Sit in meditation mode with your hands in your favourite posture. For me, I prefer the Apana mudra. Be completely relaxed in mind and body and breathe naturally. ii. Look inwards and visualise an egg sized ball/sphere which is golden yellow and it's burning and glowing in your lower dantian. iii. Slowly inhale and visualise the ball enlarging. Slowly exhale and visualise the ball contracting. FEEL the hot golden yellow qi ball. iv. Each session may be 15-30 mins. Practise every day, preferably twice a day. Over time, you'll feel a ball of warmth (later turning to heat) in the lower dantian. Enhancing the Cultivation of Energy in the Lower Dantian i. Sit in meditation mode with your hands in your favourite posture. ii. Be completely relaxed in mind and body. iii. Natural breathing. Rotate/spin the glowing (or burning) golden yellow sphere in your ldt anticlockwise from a small circle to a big circle and then back to a small circle (still anticlockwise). Repeat for...
